Solar Eclipse Event

Steel is gearing up for the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024. Dayton is in the path of totality and will be plunged into darkness for 2 minutes and 43 seconds beginning at 3:09pm. A once-in-a-lifetime event!

We will be hosting a brunch starting at 11 am. You must pre-register!  A donation will be accepted at the door.

We will also be selling Cool Commemorative T-shirts. Please also preregister to ensure we have your size available.

There will be prizes and trivia, but 30 minutes before the event, there will be silence and no music.  We want to allow everyone to enjoy the special event. A limited number of slots are available for a very special, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Day of Event Details:

Thanks for choosing Steel Aviation as your path to TOTALITY. We welcome you to our little airport Dayton-Phillipsburg.

We want everyone to have a blast during the eclipse party so let’s all come together and enjoy this amazing experience.  Remember safety first, fun second.  We look forward to creating some unforgettable memories and witnessing the magic of the totality together.

We are excited to share this once-in-a-lifetime event with you and look forward to having you as our guests. To maintain the highest level of safety and enjoyment, we would appreciate it if you could read over and follow the instructions below:

• Please note that we widened and extended our runway, which is 75 wide by 3200, and paved with fresh asphalt.
• We are a non-towered airport. Our Unicom is: 122.7
• Parking is plentiful, but please bring tie-downs and/or chocks. Depending on attendance/space, you may be parked on gravel or grass. Please bring your lawn chairs. Guests are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks.
• We will have brunch for registered people and an ice cream truck onsite.  Other than that, food options are limited.
• We have T-shirts for those who have ordered and a limited number of extras for sale.
• Steel Aviation will have several aircraft, including Cirrus and Diamond, for sale.
• We will also have a raffle with great prizes!  We will have several yard games set up as well SPIKE BALL, VolleyBall, Cornhole etc.
• At approximately 10:00 EST, the C2A group will fly Cirrus formation into 3i7
• Upon Arrival, please look for Marshals. They will place you in a parking spot.
• Unless you have made prior arrangements, there are no rental cars or courtesy cars available.
• Please feel free to bring music; however, we ask that you turn the music off at 2:30 so that others can enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime event.
• The airport will close at 2:30 for all Arrivals, and we will reopen at 3:30 for Departures.
